    Here are the special rules for this week of the Vigilus Defiant Campaign.
    It doesn't matter if you missed a week "winning" the campaign is the cherry on top of a big 40K cake, so get involved!

    Here are the special rules for this week of the Vigilus Defiant Campaign.
    It doesn't matter if you missed a week "winning" the campaign is the cherry on top of a big 40K cake, so get involved!

    Desperate times for the Mechanicus require desperate measures this week. Then... Noctis Aeterna...

    Remember you get GPs for winning, using specific Vigilus battlezones or missions as well as the bonuses listed below. (You don't *need* to use the specific Vigilus rules, a regular game of 40K in store counts, but they don't half add to the flavour!)
    You can get all the background, story, and special rules in the Vigilus Defiant Campaign book available in store.

    Campaign Glory Points
    Winning the battle - 10GPs to every winning player
    Using a Vigilus battlezone (pg 154-159 Vigilus Defiant) - 2GPs to every player
    Playing a Vigilus Crucible of War mission (pg 130-141 Vigilus Defiant) - 1GP to every player
    Playing a Vigilus Echoes of War mission (pg 142-153 Vigilus Defiant) - 3GPs to every player
    Fulfilling the criteria for bonus glory points in each campaign round - See below.

    Round 4

    1.918 Post: Doom From Within
    The Adeptus Mechanicus forces in Megaborealis battle against the Genestealer Cult uprising. The promethium-soaked Seeping Delta is ignited in an effort to hold back the rampaging Orks outside.

    1.921 Post: A Spire Topples in Megaborealis
    Long-range fire from Ork artillery topples a spire in Megaborealis, which crashes through the force field perimeter and allows hordes of Orks to invade the hivesprawl.

    2.021 Post: The Darkness
    Vigilus is thrown into disarray as the Noctis Aeterna dawns, causing the Bastion-class force fields to fail.

    SPECIAL RULES
    In this campaign round the following special rules apply:

    Bitter Enemies: Add 1 to hit rolls for attacks made by ADEPTUS MECHANICUS units that target GENESTEALER CULT units, and add 1 to hit rolls made by GENESTEALER CULT units that target ADEPTUS MECHANICUS units.

    Null Tide: Units cannot use invulnerable saves.

    Bonus GPs
    Players earn 5 bonus GPs each time they participate in one of the following missions:
    - The Delta Aflame (pg 142 Vigilus Defiant)
    - Convoy (pg 130 Vigilus Defiant)
    - Storm the Lines (pg 134 Vigilus Defiant)

    The Militarum takes the fight to the Ork Speedwaaaagh, and the cavalry arrive (but what they find is disturbing...) And... it's just a rash. Right?

    Mechanised Astra Militarum companies slow the advane of the Speedwaaagh! across the Vigilus Wastes.

    2.034 Post: On the Path to War
    En-route to Vigilus, contingents of the Space Wolves and other Chapters pass planets under heavy Chaos attack.

    2.230 Post: A Sickness in Dontoria
    In Dontoria Hivesprawl, a vessel makes an unauthorised docking. Emerging from within, the Death Guard fight their way deep into the hivesprawl. Within the week, the deadly Gellerpox has spread through the hive.

    SPECIAL RULES
    In this campaign round the following special rules apply:

    Swift Retaliation: Re-roll wound rolls of 1 for attacks made by ASTRA MILITARUM VEHICLES.

    Deadly Contagion: At the start of the first Battle Round, but before the first turn begins, each player rolls a D6 for each of their INFANTRY units that is on the battlefield. On a 1, subtract 1 from that unit's Toughness characteristic. NURGLE units are not affected.

    Bonus GPs
    Players earn 5 bonus GPs each time they participate in one of the following missions:
    - Running Battle (pg 138 Vigilus Defiant)
    - Data Recovery (pg 140 Vigilus Defiant)
    - Blitz (Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook)

    A long-hidden Genestealer Cult rises up from beneath the planet's hivesprawls, battling defending Imperials and invading Orks alike.

    1.909 Post: Hidden Agendas, Selfish Souls
    Communication between hivesprawls breaks down and each looks to its own defences.

    SPECIAL RULES
    In this campaign round the following special rules apply:

    Rise from the Shadows: Add 1 to hit rolls for shooting attacks made by GENESTEALER CULT units that target the closest enemy unit.

    Growing Dissonance: IMPERIUM units cannot use abilities that affect the keyword IMPERIUM

    Bonus GPs
    Players earn 5 bonus GPs each time they participate in one of the following missions:
    - Behead the Viper (pg 148 Vigilus Defiant)
    - Hold Your Gains (pg 132 Vigilus Defiant)

    It doesn't matter if you missed a week "winning" the campaign is the cherry on top of a big 40K cake, so get involved!

    I want to hear about your battles from Round 1, what exciting tales of valour or luck happened last week? A highpoint for me was in the last stages of a game of Data Recovery when the defenders who were marginally behind (my team) managed to smite a heavily wounded Chaos Predator causing an explosion that took out almost all the defenders of the objectives handing the win to the Imperium! The Emperor protects!

    1.580 Post: Convoys and Running Battles
    Swarms of Speed Freeks fall upon armoured convoys carrying precious resources across the planet. The Astra Militarum respond, their tank companies engaging in desperate running battles.

    1.792 Post: The Flesh-Raids
    Drawn like bladesharks to blooded water, Drukhari prey upon isolated explorators in Kaelac's Bane, before venturing further afield to raid the southern reaches of Dirkden and Oteck Hivesprawls.

    SPECIAL RULES
    In this campaign round the following special rules apply:

    Tank Hunters: Add 1 to wound rolls for attacks made by VEHICLES that target enemy VEHICLES.

    Prey on the Weak: DRUKHARI units that have the Power From Pain ability treat the current battle round as being 1 higher than it actually is when determining what bonuses they gain.

    Players earn 5 bonus GPs each time they participate in one of the following missions:
    - Convoy (pg 130 Vigilus Defiant)
    - Hold Your Gains (pg 132 Vigilus Defiant)

  • Eagle Warriors defending the line. Tried a Vigilus Battezone, the Wastes and mission (Storm the Lines). The storm in the wastes definitely had an impact on the battle, and the mission was brilliant, really great fun. It didn't help that I mucked...
